By A total of 4,682,638 pensioners were registered in Romania in April 2026, 1,836 fewer than in the previous month, while the average pension stood at 2,783 lei, according to data centralised by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP) and consulted by AGERPRES.
The total value of pension entitlements amounted to nearly 13.032 billion lei.
Of the total number of pensioners, 519,153 had worked in agriculture, with an average pension of 715 lei.
According to CNPP statistics, the number of people receiving old-age pensions stood at 3,781,627, of whom 2,157,235 were women, while the average pension amounted to 3,114 lei.
In April 2026, a total of 62,287 people received early retirement pensions (with an average pension of 2,489 lei), while 391,661 people received disability pensions (average pension of 1,084 lei), including 45,974 people with first-degree disability status (average pension of 947 lei).
