By The Romanian national team on Tuesday progressed to the quarterfinals of the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026 European men’s basketball championship in Oradea, after defeating Turkey 71-62 (24-18, 12-13, 11-15, 24-16).
The Romanians led most of the time, with the maximum gap on the board being 15 points.
Sebastian-Petru Lapuste was once again the architect of the victory, with 26 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists. Alexandru-Stefan Hategan stood out with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and Eric Craciun added 12 points, 6 rebounds.
From the Turks, Arda Ozturk, with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and Emre Guclu, with 9 points, 10 rebounds, stood out.
In the quarterfinals, the team coached by Alexandru Gliga will meet the winner between France and Georgia. AGERPRES
