The Ministry of National Defence’s (MApN) radar surveillance system detected a group of five airborne targets at 1:27 am on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the area of the town of Izmail, over Ukrainian territory. Two Romanian Air Force F-16 aircraft from the 86th Borcea Air Base were scrambled.
According to a ministry press release sent to AGERPRES, the National Military Command Centre notified the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations that measures should be taken to alert the population in northern Tulcea County, which sent an RO-ALERT message at 1:30 am.
