INCDFP: 4.4-magnitude earthquake occurs in Buzau county on Tuesday morning

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale occurred on Tuesday morning, at 4:56, in Buzau county, according to data from the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 145.2 km, near the following cities: 57 km south of Focsani, 57 km south-east of Sfantu-Gheorghe, 62 km south of Buzau, 65 km east of Brasov and 83 km north-east of Ploiesti.

Since the beginning of August, 20 earthquakes have occurred in Romania, with magnitudes ranging from 2.4 to 4.5 on the Richter scale.

The strongest earthquake this year occurred on 26 February in Vrancea county, with a magnitude of 4.5.
