Four Romanian crews have secured their place in Finals A at the Rowing World Cup in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
In women’s four, Romania (Iuliana Irina Cantoriu, Iuliana Isabela Boldea, Andreea Bianca Marin, Denisa Cristina Ailincai) ranked third in the preliminary race (06:34.84), after the USA (06:19.80) and New Zealand (06:26.71).
In the similar men’s event, Romania (Nicolae Razvan Stoian, Sebastian Alexandru Tasca, Antonel Avacaritei, Sergiu Anfimov) ranked second in the first heat (05:51.36), after Italy (05:50.21), enough to catch the Final A.
In the in the women’s quadruple sculls preliminary race, Romania (Elena Maria Toma, Ionela-Elena Scutaru, Beatrice Piseru, Bianca-Elena Draghici) ranked fifth (06:59.85), 25 seconds away from the podium.
Romania also finished fifth in the men’s quadruple sculls preliminary race, but Bogdan Murariu, Iosif Rszvan Buzau, Silviu-Marian Dumitriu, Stefan Bogdan Moales (05:47.05) were much closer to the podium.
