Five Romanian crews on Friday advanced to A-finals at the Under-19 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, after finishing on the podium in the semifinals.
In the U19 women’s pair, Marina Ariana Balint and Jessica Popescu won the semifinal (07:29.18) and will start in Final A.
In the U19 men’s pair, Radu-Andrei Enescu and Dumitru Cristian Pascari won the second semifinal (06:40.75), so they qualified for Final A.
Gabriela Costinela Ursu and Andreea Mariuca Dumitrascu secured a berth in the U19 women’s double sculls Final A, after finishing third in the first semifinal (07:19.32), ahead of Russia (07:17.02) and Germany (07:17.89).
In the U19 women’s four, Romania’s team of Ana-Maria Bordanc, Alexandra Daria Craciun, Anca-Andreea Culidiuc and Denisa Mihaela Vasilica, finished first in the first semifinal (06:46.01), qualifying for Final A.
