By Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had a meeting on Wednesday at the Government House with representatives of the Concordia Employers’ Confederation, to discuss issues regarding competitiveness of the Romania’s economy, fiscal-budgetary measures and reform priorities.
According to the government, the employers’ confederation presented the main challenges facing the business community, from the situation of some industrial sectors affected by the increase in costs and competitive pressures, to the developments in the energy sector, the digitalisation of the administration and the necessary measures to increase the competitiveness of the Romanian economy.
The prime minister said that economic growth and improved competitiveness depend on the consolidation of public finances, a narrowing government deficit, the responsible management of public resources, sped-up absorption of European funds and the strengthening of investors’ confidence in the Romanian economy.
