By Romanian tennis player Sorana Cîrstea will play Linda Noskova in the third round of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, after she defeated Colombian Maria Camila Osorio 6-3 4-6 6-2.
Cirstea, who prevailed 6-3 6-4 over Australian Kimberly Birrell, reaches for the sixth time the third round in London, her best performance at the tournament at the All England Club.
Cirstea, 36, ranked 18th, is 3-2 in head-to-head count against Noskova, 21, ranked 12th , who last year reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon. The Romanian won all three victories this year (in Dubai, Miami and Rome), losing in Indian Wells. Noskova also won her first clash in 2024 in Brisbane.
