Romania’s trade balance deficit, up 1pct, to almost 27.5 billion euros, ten months into 2025

Romania’s trade balance deficit (FOB/CIF) for the first ten months of the current year stood at 27.493 billion euros, an increase of 275.7 million euros (1%) compared with the same period in 2024, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Wednesday.

FOB exports amounted to 81.054 billion euros, up 4.3% compared with January to October 2024, and CIF imports rose to 108.547 billion euros, an increase of 3.4% on the same period.

According to the quoted source, in the period 1 January to 31 October 2025, significant shares in the structure of exports and imports were held by the following product groups: machinery and transport equipment (46.5% of exports and 36.6% of imports) and other manufactured goods (27% of exports and 28.4% of imports).

The value of intra-EU27 trade in goods during the reference period was 58.051 billion euros for dispatches and 78.399 billion euros for arrivals, representing 71.6% of total exports and 72.2% of total imports.
